What are the 60 best consumer tablet apps? The Tabby Awards announces its Finalists

The Tabby Awards today announced its list of Finalists. An international jury of expert judges selected 60 tablet apps for the final round.

The international panel of  judges was assembled in collaboration with the Application Developers Alliance and was co-chaired by Ravi Bhatt, CEO of BranchFire, and George Jones, chief consultant at Hit Detection and previous Editor at Maximum PC and TabTimes.

The list of Finalists is dominated by iPad apps, as was the list of submissions. Still, there are a few Android apps and one Windows 8 app.

Submissions came in from more than a dozen countries and finalists include apps from Canada, Finland, Japan, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Winner’s circle

The winners will be announced later this summer. The trophy ceremony for this one-of-a-kind competition will take place during Tablet Ecosystem, a new conference covering the business of tablet apps to be held on November 13, 2013 in New York City.
