Instead of a physics-based puzzle game, Angry Birds Epic is a fantasy-themed role-playing game with turn-based battles, according to Kotaku. Think Final Fantasy.
Rovio first teased the game earlier this week when it debuted a teaser trailer that called the game "epic." Little did we know that that would turn out to be the game's name as well as its description.
Angry Birds Epic will have a crafting system that lets you build items and potions with ingredients that you can earn in-game or through in-app purchases (no surprise there). It's soft launching in Canada and Australia this week, with a global release occuring later this year on iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
