AllThingsD reports that Apple recently closed the deal for the firm, which specializes in offering locations and local business information, and says that the deal includes the start-up’s technology and team.

This marks Apple’s fourth location-related acquisition in recent years, with the Cupertino firm having bought Placabase, C3 Technologies and Poly9.

Apple will hope that this buyout, which is already closed and which includes assets and staff, improves its fledgling map service, not least because Google just this week launched a new version of Google Maps for iPad.
