The deal sees the Wi-Fi only model drop from $799 to $679, and the cellular model fall from $929 to $789. Both models are Apple-certified, are available in black and white and come with a one-year warranty, which acts as some reassurance that these refurbs should last for a while yet.
Apple fixes up refurbished models with a brand new battery and outer shell and the 128GB model is the latest in a long line of repaired iPads selling on the cheap. The Cupertino company already offers refurbished editions of the iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2 and iPad mini, and prices start from as low as $279 for an iPad mini with 16GB of storage.
This news comes as Apple gears up to launch its next-generation iPad and iPad mini. The iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 are reportedly due to be announced at some point later this month. The former is said to have slimmer bezels and an improved 7X processor, while the second-generation iPad mini could turn up with a Retina Display.
