Two weeks after distributing beta 3 of tvOS 10.1, Apple has today seeded the fourth beta to Developers.
You’ll need to connect your fourth-generation Apple TV to a computer with a USB-C to USB-A cable to download and install tvOS 10.1 beta 4. Obviously you’ll need a registered developer account to obtain and activate the beta version of tvOS 10.1. Once a beta profile has been installed on the device through iTunes, new beta updates will be available and delivered via an over the air update.
One of the biggest standout features of tvOS 10.1 is the integration of Single Sign-On to the Apple TV that will allow users to sign in once with their cable credentials. Single Sign-On is currently available for DirecTV, Dish, GVTC Communications, Hotwire, and Sling TV.
Since the third beta of tvOS 10.1, Apple has unlocked the new TV app that aims at providing a centralized hub for content discovery across the various television and movie apps.
Additional features of tvOS 10 saw expanded improved search, Siri capabilities, and Continuity for using the iPhone for text input, app downloads, and more.
Nothing specific is called out on the release notes for the fourth beta of tvOS 10.1 so presumably is a small update focused on performance and bug fixes.
