CES 2017 is here, and along with it comes a huge amount of new hardware. We’ve seen new phones, audio equipment, and even drones, but there’s one piece of technology that companies like to release like no other: laptops.

Asus has joined along on the new laptop train with a variety of new options, but one that really stands out is the new AsusPro B9440. The notebook weighs just 2.31 pounds, which is even lighter than Lenovo’s new 2017 ThinkPad X1 Carbon. Asus says this is one of the key factors when deciding on a laptop for business professionals, just as much as build quality.

Speaking of which, the B9440 has one of the most premium builds around. With a magnesium-alloy chassis and a “spill proof” keyboard, business professionals can rest assured that the laptop will be just as protective as it is professional. Asus says that each laptop will face strict quality standards, so you shouldn’t have to worry about massive quality control issues.

Specs include a choice of 8 or 16GB of DDR3 RAM, M.2 SSD storage up to 512GB, and an FHD 1080p display. This display is very similar to the XPS line of notebooks, and is almost borderless, with a discrete but professional branding stamp on the bottom bezel.

The notebook uses the new 7th generation Kaby Lake i5 and i7 U-series processors, so while this isn’t going to be the most powerful solution around, you can bet your bottom dollar it will have great battery life. It uses a 48-watt Li-polymer battery, which is the same capacity as Dell’s new XPS 13 2-in-1.

The device will be available in May at a starting price of $999.
