Looking to get a brand new printer? Retail prices can get intimidating, but we are here to show you it’s possible to grab a quality printer without breaking the bank.
We have put together a list of our very favorite affordable printers, but first we must answer one question – what makes a printer cheap? We believe anything under $100 is considered a good deal in this market. Our choices are limited to said budget.
With that in mind, let us jump right into your list of the best cheap printers around!
The Brother HL-L2340DW is nearing our price limit very closely at $99, but it is a unit that can definitely hold its own against the competition. This laser printer can output 27 pages per minute and hold 250 sheets of paper at a time.
There is one huge caveat – it does not print in color. But it does take care of black & white very well. It is great for office environments who want a fast and reliable printer. Definition is also very sharp, thanks to its 2400 x 600 dpi resolution. Hell, it even supports wireless printing.
Samsung Xpress SL-M2835DW/XAA
Liking the idea of a good black & white laser printer? Here’s another option for you. The Samsung Xpress SL-M2835DW/XAA sure has a better design, but that is not all it has to offer. For starters, it is a little cheaper at $89.
This Samsung printer is fast at 29 ppm, and it comes with a nice set of features to make your experience more pleasant. The unit supports wireless printing, NFC pairing, automatic duplex printing and its dpi is pretty good at 4,800 x 600.
HP Envy 5530
This may not be a laser printer, but it can take care of both color and black & white, albeit at a slower pace. It can produce black & white prints at 8 ppm, while printing in color will slow you down to 5.2 ppm.
Also included is a scanner and support for wireless printing, so it’s as full-featured as a printer can get. And at $71.99, it is also a pretty good deal.
The Canon MX492 offers great color printing, as well as black & white output. It can achieve 8.8 ppm in b&w and 4.4 ppm in color.
It helps that the Canon printer also comes with full wireless compatibility, as well as fax features. All for only $60!
Epson Expression Home XP-430
Don’t have that much money or space? The smaller Epson Expression Home XP-430 might do the trick for a much lower price. It costs $59.99 and can do almost everything the big guys do… albeit at a slower pace. It can print in black and white at 9 pages per minute, while going with color will be slower at 4.5 ppm.
It does come with a color screen, built-in card slot, WiFi connectivity and more. It is a great alternative for the home and small office.
