At the peak of ergonomic design and superior functionality, you’ll find the Razer Mamba. When you have the money to spend, you can splurge on products that are at the pinnacle of their class, and that is the Mamba. It features a comfortable grip and clean, minimalist, yet distinguished design, accentuated by RGB lighting around the device.
Given that it is designed to be a gaming mouse, the Razer Mamba is extremely accurate with a max DPI of 16,000 – compare that to 1,600 DPI of the Logitech MX Master. Where other gaming mice provide physical customization options, the Razer Mamba features adjustable click pressure in the left and right buttons. Depending on the game your playing, or the type of work your doing, you can tailor the pressure it takes to depress the buttons.
The Mamba comes in various configurations, including wired and wireless. The wireless option comes with a rechargeable docking station that mounts the mouse vertically while charging and adds to the look of of your setup.
Functionality is important in creating your desk setup, but you also want to have a little flair. The Corsair K70 RGB RAPIDFIRE combines the best of both worlds. This keyboard is designed through and through to be a gaming monster, but it’s also a great piece to have on your desk for day-to-day work. The Corsair RGB RAPIDFIRE features Cherry MX Speed keys which have significantly reduced travel compared to traditional keys, which makes it very easy to trigger the switch – even with the lightest touch. This is excellent for gaming, but until you get used to it, you might accidentally depress the keys when typing. Ready the spellcheck!
Back to the flair portion. If you haven’t noticed by now, the RAPIDFIRE comes loaded with a ton of lighting options to really make it your own. With the included software, you can program the lighting to match exactly what you like, even if that’s a rippling color wave with each key press. Adding to its customization is the option to add textured caps to the W-A-S-D keys for grip during gaming sessions, following suit with the texture that is on the spacebar.
Overall, for function and for flair, this is one hell of a keyboard.
If you’ve checked out our Best Desk Setup Under $500 post, you might remember one of Dell’s other bezel-less displays, the S2415H. If Dell’s lineup is something that has caught your eye, the U2515H is going to be right up your alley. At 25″, the U2515H boast a 2K screen resolution at 2560 x 1440, amplified by the near bezel-less design which makes this the perfect monitor if you decide to run a dual setup.
The U2515H is an IPS panel that has incredible viewing angles and color reproduction. Outside of picture quality, the monitor provides outstanding ergonomics and adjustability to make sure it sits exactly how you wish. The height is adjustable, as well as the tilt and swivel if you decide portrait is the way to go. Last, but not least, the monitor sports five, yes five, USB 3.0 ports in the back.
The U2515H is truly a monitor that you are going to love looking at everyday and our very own Nirave has two as can be seen in the featured image. When asked about them, he doesn’t hesitate to recommend them, as they are two of the very best displays on the market.
Finally, we find ourselves at headphones. In our previous segments, we’ve seen that excellent sound and build quality can come from a small budget, but if you take things up a notch, you will reap the rewards. The Sennheiser HD 650 headphones, though having been around for a bit, are timeless in their build and sound quality. Whereas some of the more affordable headphone options are still made from plastic, here you will find headphones constructed with lightweight aluminum, visually distinguishing them and creating a great overall feel.
As we mentioned, the sound quality is top-notch, especially given the open-back design that gives the HD 650 a more natural sound when listening to music. However, this does result in some noise bleed, so be conscious of your tunes when out and about! For at-home or office use, these are very comfortable to wear all day long. It is worth mentioning though that the Sennheisers come with a 1/4″ end and included 3.5mm adapter. If you want to get the most out of these, you might want to look into a portable amp.
