What are the best games for iPad and Android tablets? Through the competition opening today, this is what The Tabby Awards strives to find out. And app and game developers and publishers worldwide are called to submit their best work for consideration.

Entries will be reviewed by an international judging panel of more than 25 app and game professionals and of administrators of the Entertainment Consumers Association (ECA) – an association partner to the competition – to review games.

For its first edition in 2013, the Tabby Awards competition received submissions from more than 15 countries and selected 24 winners. Among them was Badland, which was later selected as Game of the year 2013 by Apple.

This year, to reflect the growth of the Android ecosystem on tablets, there will be separate categories for iPad and Android apps – thus doubling the potential number of winners. On each OS platform, six categories are for games:

  • Action, Adventure & Arcade
  • Board, Casual, Puzzle & Word
  • Cards, Casino & Dice
  • Kids, Education & Family
  • RPG, Simulation & Strategy
  • Sports & Racing

Finalists and winners will be selected this spring, announced this summer and celebrated at a ceremony at the next TabletBiz conference & expo in New York on November 6.

Submitting an app is an easy process. Developers and publishers should first review application guidelines, select the best categories to enter the competition, then submit their game online.

The Tabby Awards is the only competition for the best tablet apps and games. If your app is among the best, make sure the world knows about it and enter the competition now.
