TabTimes launches iPad app, a digital magazine focused on tablets in business

The TabTimes team has been working hard on our iPad app for several months and we’re happy to announce that TabTimes for iPad is now available for download at the App Store.

The free TabTimes for iPad app delivers the timely news, reviews and analysis you have come to expect from the TabTimes website, but far more customized to the platform.  TabTimes for iPad is designed to be a very different experience, a digital news magazine, conceived from the start as an iPad media product. 

As Creative Strategies president Tim Bajarin notes, “Browser based content on tablets is okay, but it pales in comparison to an app optimized for the tablet itself.”

Our new app presents articles in a screen-by-screen interface, which you only navigate by swiping – not scrolling. This is a common navigation paradigm in the tablet versions of print magazines. But while print magazines are published in regular issues, TabTimes for iPad is continuously updated and the latest published article serves as its “cover” page. 

We’ve also scheduled our main features for later in the day and weekends when research shows most iPad users are more likely to be actively using the mobile device.

In addition to its magazine-style, intuitive format, TabTimes for iPad includes special functions that make it easy to share and store articles for later reading. For example, with TabTimes for iPad you can: 

  • Bookmark articles for later reading
  • Comment upon articles and see other readers’ comments
  • Save in Instapaper and Pocket
  • Share via Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin
  • Search all published articles
