Fixya report details the biggest glitches and problems with iPad Air, Kindle Fire HDX

Fixya, the resource site for do it yourself repair, lists several issues it’s come across with name brand tablets.

iPad Air

Even the new iPad Air, which has generally received extremely positive reviews, wasn’t spared. Fixya notes a common issue across all iPad platforms is Apple’s Safari browser crashing. The iPad Air is also reported to have screen issues, with some users reporting grey lines or a yellow tint that cuts across half of the screen.

Kindle Fire HDX

Users also reported issues with the Amazon Kindle HDX to Fixya, specifically the inability of the battery to charge quickly – which can be a hassle, particularly when you’re traveling.

“The Kindle HDX’s pre-installed Silk Browser has also proven somewhat unreliable, tending to freeze when opening a new tab and/or navigating to a new web browser,” said Fixya.

iPad mini

While not denying the iPad mini is a solid purchase for entertainment seekers, Fixya says it has it’s own unique problems related to its 7.9-inch screen.

Ironically, the iPad mini with Retina display is known for its sharp display, but “ghosting” has been known to happen when users flip between apps where the previous image will still be lightly visible on the screen for a short period of time.

Surface 2

Microsoft’s new Surface 2 tablets got off relatively easy, with the most common complaint a well known issue – fewer apps than the other two  major platform, Android and iOS, though the availability of Microsoft Office gives Windows tablets a unique advantage.
