Games publisher: Tablets can ‘reinvent’ living room gaming

March 28, 2012

Speaking during GDC 2012, Young, formerly of Electronic Arts, joined the growing lists of Apple plaudits and said that the iPad, coupled with AirPlay technology, is disrupting user habits in the living room.

“Our view is that tablets really have the opportunity to reinvent living-room play experiences", said Young. "They’re powerful enough so that you can take the tablet with you and continue an experience that is essentially exactly the same, and they’re also used predominantly in the living room as control surfaces.”

Ngmoco was acquired by Japanese social gaming giant DeNA in 2010 and has around 45 video games on both iOS and Android. The company is best known for being behind the Rolando game series and Eliminate Pro, a first-person shooter game.
