Games remain the dominant force in the Amazon Appstore

This report, from app analytics firm Distimo, continues the trend of game downloads dominating every platform they're available on, whether it's Google Play, the iOS App Store or Amazon. In fact, games made up the majority of all apps, both free and paid, in 2013 across both platforms, according to one report.

That the same is true for Amazon is hardly surprising—and Distimo says 61.3 percent of the apps downloaded from Amazon in February were games. For comparison Distimo said just 41 percent of all downloads across Google Play store and the App Store were games last month.

In addition 74 percent of revenue on the Apple App Store and 90 percent revenue on Google Play were reportedly from games. (via Gamasutra)
