Google Drive for iOS update lets users open links in files in Chrome or Safari

July 25, 2013

Version 1.5 of the app, which supports both iPhone and iPad, sees Google apply some customary bug fixes but also introduce two new features which should make the user experience much more fluid.

The first of these is the new ability for users to open links from within their files in Chrome or Safari. So for instance, if you’re file had a link to TabTimes, you would click on the ‘Open link function and choose your preferred browser.

The second new feature allows users to now insert rows and columns in spreadsheets by simply pressing the ‘+’ button in Google Sheets.

Google Drive for iOS is free to download from the App Store.
