Google Play is ahead in downloads, but the iOS App Store still leads in revenue

Globally, Google Play app downloads exceeded App Store downloads by 45 percent, the report said. That's allegedly mostly thanks to emerging markets like Russia, Brazil, Mexico, and Turkey, where they appreciate sometimes-lower-priced Android devices.

But App Store revenue is still higher by a massive 85 percent. This gap is reportedly narrowing as Android adoption rises in the US and UK. But growth in the App Store was reportedly driven mostly in China.
