It hasn’t been easy though.
In fact, Hearst fell short of its earlier forecast that it would reach a million subscribers by the end of last year. Instead, it didn’t reach a million until the end of March, reports AllThingsD.
Meanwhile, David Carey, the head of Hearst Magazines, has his sights set higher. Back in February he predicted Hearst will have 3 million digital subscribers by 2016, or about 10% of its entire base of subscribers.
Hearst publishes a range of magazines such as Car & Driver, Esquire, Good Housekeeping and Popular Mechanics.
