The tablets were expected to launch in the UK in March, before being rolled out globally, but it would appear that problems with embedding Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), has forced the Korean electronics manufacturer to push the UK release date back to the end of April.
The tablets have the same configuration except for the screen size. Both tablets have a dual-core 1GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, up to 32GB of on-board storage, a microSD card slot and two cameras. The 7-inch tablet has a 1024 x 600 resolution display, while the 10.1-inch display has a 1280 x 800 resolution.
The 7-inch slate is expected to sell for the equivalent of $350, with pricing on the 10.1-inch tablet still to be announced.
