The version 7.3 set of brain games are all available for free download at the iTunes App Store.
Acuity compares the benefits of playing brain games to a weight reducing program that lets you measure your progress. “Acuity Games’ brain games apply the same principle as a bathroom scale to help maintain a healthy brain,” the company said in a release, noting the games let users make a “brain health assessment” as they improve scores.
“Per-game brain health results aren’t strictly necessary, since meaningful changes to brain health typically take place over long periods of time,” said Dan Hansen, founder of Acuity Games. “This feature makes the games more engaging, and motivates players to improve their results."
The Acuity lineup of games for iOS includes:
Concentration (Match sets of hidden letters, numbers or shapes); Edge Match (Match scrambled square puzzle tiles using colors and patterns); Flash 2: (The classic game of Simon Says using flashes and sounds); Grid Guru: (Tap tiles to repeat increasingly complex patterns); Matchematics: (Match sets of unsolved math expressions); Sudoku: (Match every row, column, and 3×3 sub-grid with the numbers 1 to 9) and Word Hunt: (Trace adjacent letters to form words of three letters or more).
