Of those teens who have a tablet, 68% said that they own an iPad (8% of those said they owned an iPad mini with the rest having the standard or full-size iPad).

And it's more good news for Apple going forward as 64% of teens who said they planned to buy a tablet in the next six months said they'd buy an iPad.

Twenty percent said they owned an "Android tablet" while 9% said they owned a Kindle Fire.

There's a huge opportunity for Apple, or perhaps another tablet maker, with U.S. teens if a significant number of the over 50% who currently don't own a tablet buy one.

The survey involved 8,643 teens. (Source article)
