With some time on the market, Apple’s latest tablet, the iPad Pro 9.7, is proving a solid option for those looking to combine the familiar 10-inch size with the power and features only found in the Pro line. Being a Pro tablet means a new keyboard and stylus, but what other accessories will you need to get the most out of your tablet?
Join us for our rundown of the best iPad Pro 9.7 accessories.
You had to know we would start here, this is the killer accessory for the iPad Pro line, Apple’s Smart Keyboard. On top of being a detachable keyboard and dock, the Smart Keyboard folds over to protect your tablet when not in use.

The Smart Keyboard will run you $149.00 at Apple, that’s $20 less expensive than the same accessory for the big model of this Pro tablet. Alternatively, head on over to Amazon to grab your iPad Pro 9.7 Smart keyboard for $141.00.
Along with the Smart Keyboard, the Apple Pencil smart stylus is one of the two official accessories that you’ll only find on the Pro tablets. Pencil is a pressure and angle sensitive rechargeable Bluetooth stylus that pairs with features on the tablet to provide the best of input precision. That sounded like an advertisement, here’s the thing, if you are the creative type or are otherwise looking for the ultimate in input precision and drawing techniques for your iPad, this is the tool for you.
Following tradition, Apple has a basic silicone case available for the iPad Pro 9.7. Providing rear and side protection, this form fitting case has slots in all the right places, comes in a dozen different colors and leaves room for the connection of both the Smart Keyboard and the Smart Cover, which we’ll talk about next.
Rounding out the official channels, Apple followed trend on a Smart Cover as well for the iPad Pro 9.7. A familiar folding screen cover that doubles as a stand, it comes in the same 12 colors as the Silicone Case above. The ‘smart’ part of this cover is in the embedded magnets that put your screen to sleep and wake it back up when the cover is closed and opened again.

Let’s assume that you did not purchase either the Smart Keyboard or the Smart Cover above, both of which can keep your tablet upright, you’ll want a stand for your iPad Pro 9.7. Now, let’s keep things simple, see that stand in the photo above, the one I used for my review of the iPad Pro 9.7 and for the shootout of the iPad Pro 9.7 vs iPad Air 2, (shameless self promotion, forgive me,) that’s the AmazonBasics adjustable tablet stand.
For $8.99 from Amazon, you can keep your iPad Pro 9.7 upright in any number of angles and orientations.
As with most items on this list, we’ll explore more options for these accessories at a later date, but for today, we want to revisit the Anker Ultra-compact Bluetooth keyboard. This is a simple, light weight, battery powered keyboard that will work with most all of your devices, not just your iPad Pro 9.7.
Check out the Anker Ultra-compact Bluetooth keyboard from Amazon today, you’re $19.99 from a new typing experience.
Don’t let us convince you that there is a better charging option than the stock adapter that came with your iPad Pro 9.7, but if you were looking anyway, we’ve got one in mind. Actually, we have more than one in mind, but let’s keep things from getting out of hand. My favorite USB charger is a 5-port device, because there is a good chance you have more than one USB powered phone or tablet yourself.
The Anker 5-port 40W charger is a powerful little unit that keeps all of my accessories powered, from my fitness tracker and smartwatch to the mighty iPad Pro, this charger will keep your iPad Pro 9.7 juiced and ready to rock.
