iPhone, iPad part of Microsoft’s update plans for Dynamics CRM

February 6, 2012

Announced today, the expanded availability will be rolled out as part of a service update for Dynamics CRM due out in the second quarter of 2012. The service update also includes enhanced social functionality and what Microsoft says are new enterprise-class features. In a further sign of outreach, Microsoft also said the update adds multiple Web browser options for users who now can use Dynamics with Internet Explorer as well as Chrome, Firefox and Safari, running on PC, Macintosh and iPad devices.

“In today’s hyperconnected world, customers need to be able to access their business-critical data on the device of their choice from wherever they are,” said Dennis Michalis, general manager of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, in a release.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Mobile will be available at a starting price of $30 per user, per month and supports the use of up to three devices per user.

Microsoft faces stiff competition in the CRM space from Salesforce and familiar enterprise combatants such as Oracle and SAP. In a blog post, Michalis said CRM is “a big bet for Microsoft. Our ‘CRM economy’, if you will, is a deep and vast network. It is a big business.”
