Back at IFA 2016, Lenovo introduced the Miix 510, an alternative to Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4. And judging by the recently leaked images, the Chinese company will soon be announcing another 2-in-1 device. Called the Miix 720, it’s going to take on the upcoming Surface Pro 5 from Microsoft, which will hopefully see the light of day at the beginning of 2017.
The Miix 720 will pack a high-resolution (2880 x 1920) 12-inch screen, Intel’s seventh-gen Kaby Lake CPUs, up to 16 GB of RAM, and up to a 1TB SSD. It will also come with an updated port selection featuring a USB-C port, which will be used to charge the device. Running on Windows 10, it will ship with Lenovo’s latest Active Pen 2 stylus, which offers increased pressure sensitivity when compared to its predecessor.
Thanks to its 41 WHr battery, Lenovo’s Miix 720 should be good for around 8 hours of use, while the infrared camera will offer you the option of login in via facial recognition (Windows Hello). Of course, you’ll also find a built-in kickstand on the device as well as an adjustable watchband hinge that allows for the screen to rotate.
Unfortunately, there’s currently no word on the release date (or the price), but judging by the fact that the images of the device have already leaked, it should be just around the corner.
