Microsoft product manager Petr Bobek reportedly told Czech website IHNED that the company plans to launch native Office 2013 iOS and Android apps in March 2013. The Verge has added to the speculation by claiming to have seen a press release confirming the news.
(UPDATE: Following the report, a Microsoft spokesperson told The Verge that the report was inaccurate, but didn't elaborate. The statement said in full: "The information shared by our Czech subsidiary is not accurate. We do not have anything further to share at this time.")
This press release, drafted by Microsoft's Czech Republic division, apparently states that Office 2013 will become available to all versions of Windows 8, as well as Mac and Symbian, and advises that Office 2013 will be made available to businesses in December and to consumers in late February.
Rumors on an Office iOS app have circulated for some time now, with perhaps the most credible suggestion in recent times being that Microsoft has already developed the app but has held back from releasing it.
