The Redmond software giant made the announcement on Chinese social networking website Weibo, but did not disclose any price details.
Microsoft has been stepping up its retail presence in China of late. The firm's Surface RT tablet is now reportedly being sold by four retail stores (360Buy, PC Mall, OneZero, and Sundan), while it last week partnered with popular Chinese seller Tmall to launch an online store in the region.
The Microsoft Tmall store currently sells over 50 products, including the Surface RT, Office and Windows 8 Phones.
The imminent release of the Surface Pro in China could mean that Microsoft is also set to unleash the 10-inch Windows 8 tablet in a number of other countries.
Just last month, the company hinted that a China release would coincide with the tablet's launch in Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
