Specifically, the new MobileIron Insight app for iPads and Android tablets gives IT the ability to easily view, monitor, and manage its mobile deployment at any time, from any location, rather than be limited to a fixed location desktop.
The software lets administrators search for users and devices; view devices by platform, ownership, carrier, and compliance; drill down into specific device status and configuration information; troubleshoot issues and assign policies and “take basic actions.”
The company also announced MobileIron Spaces, a new structure within MobileIron Core that lets IT establish data and task boundaries to protect user privacy and provide flexible delegation of IT responsibilities.
Mobile Iron said Spaces can help ensure administrators only access mobile data and take actions appropriate to their role. For example, very few, if any, administrators might be authorized to access application inventory or location on a particular device. Spaces is designed to make sure that unauthorized administrators cannot view this data.
Both releases are part of MobileIron's broader Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) platform.
