Gamevice is a new controller attachment for Android and Windows 8 tablets

From the makers of the Wikipad Android gaming tablet and control interface, Gamevice adds buttons to your existing devices.

Those buttons include dual analog sticks, triggers and shoulder buttons, four face buttons, and a d-pad.

The detachable Gamevice is compatible with Android and Windows 8 devices, including smartphones and tablets, thanks to a "flex bridge" system that makes its size adjustable. It sounds like iOS suppport is coming eventually too; the company's press release said they "hope to announce" that soon.

Physical controller attachments for mobile devices are nothing new, and Gamevice doesn't seem to add anything particularly novel or innovative. But there's room for a leader to emerge in this niche, and with the right build quality, button placement and software support this could certainly be it.

Gamevice will launch at some point in 2014.
