GM creates custom iPad and Android apps to sell more cars and trucks

So far at least 10,000 General Motors salespeople have downloaded a new app the company rolled out earlier this year for mobile devices that's designed to simplify the carmaker's lengthy and complicated sales incentives processes and, hopefully, ensure that customers are getting the lowest prices.

The free GM Dealer SalesAssistant App (DSA), available for later model Android and iOS devices, including iPads and iPhones, lets GM salespeople sort and localize the incentive offerings so they can give the best bottom-line pricing and offers to their customers.

The app, available to GM salespeople at all four of GM's divisions, offers real-time details on incentives in their marketing areas, vehicle specifications, option and trim packages as well as availability and pricing information they can share directly with customers.
