Intel continues to push out new education tablet designs, the latest being a 10-inch Android model powered by its 1.2 GHz dual-core Atom Z2520 processor.

The chip giant's new 'Intel Education Tablet' reference design includes 1GB or 2GB of RAM; up to 32GB of Flash storage and front and rear facing cameras. Intel says the tablets deliver an average of 12 hours of battery life. 3G connectivity is an option,iu WiFi is included.

Reference designs can be used by Intel hardware partners to create their own tablets. Intel had released 7- and 10-inch reference designs last year based on older processors.

Intel said the tablets feature "student friendly, rugged designs" that can withstand dropping from a desk  and also provide water and dust resistance.

The tablets also ship with a range of educational apps and support educational hardware add-ons, such as a snap-on magnification tool and a temperature sensor probe that plugs into the audio jack.
