SteelSeries' "Stratus" wireless Bluetooth gaming controller for iOS 7 is one of the first announced gamepads to take advantage of iOS 7's official controller drivers.
The SteelSeries iOS gamepad has everything one expects of a modern video game controller, and nothing more: two analog sticks, a directional pad, four face buttons, four shoulder buttons, and a pause button. No motion controls, no touch pads, no screens.
"To truly emulate that console feel we engineered the controller with pressure sensitive buttons for the ultimate in analog control," SteelSeries announcemeny reads. "The shoulder buttons, face buttons and the D-pad all feature pressure sensitivity making them as precise as possible depending how much force is applied."
Thanks to the Stratus's direct integration with iOS 7, SteelSeries says, hundreds of App Store games already support it, and many more are on the way. The Stratus will be compatible with newer iPads and iPad minis, as well as the iPhone 5, 5C and 5S, and the 5th-gen iPod Touch, It supports multiplayer with up to four controllers on one device as well. SteelSeries promises 10 hours of rechargable battery life.
