Microsoft has clarified that its soon-to-be-released Xbox One video games console will support some, but not all, Windows 8 apps.
Rumors began to fly on Monday after Engadget spotted a claim on Dell’s website that Windows 8 users would be able to sync their apps across to the Xbox One, which launches next month.
“With all your favorite Windows 8 apps able to be run on and synced to your Xbox One, now your phone, desktop, tablet and TV can all give you a unified web and entertainment experience,” reads the page, which has still not been updated.
Microsoft responded to the speculation by telling AllThingsD that this is not the case. “The suggestion that all Windows 8 apps run on Xbox One is not accurate,” the company said in an email.
For the large part though, it remains to be seen how this synchronization would work, or even what kind of apps that would be compatible with the new console. We should hear more as the November launch looms nearer.Source article
