'Rollercoaster Tycoon 4' for iOS has a premium price and microtransactions

Word from the Game Developers Conference is that the new Rollercoaster Tycoon will come with some compromises.

Not that anyone should be surprised, but Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 has microtransactions in addition to its premium price of $2.99, according to Pocket Tactics. The game will reportedly let players buy currency to speed up construction and build custom coasters.

Building crazy rollercoasters in the original Rollercoaster Tycoon was probably the best part, so it's disturbing to see that Atari will charge users for individual pieces.

Pocket Gamer checked the game out at GDC 2014 this week, and you can watch the video below for a closer look. It's tempting to jump to conclusions in this case, what with what happened to certain other recent revived classics, but let's reserve judgment until the game is out later in spring.
