The Game of Thrones social game has migrated from Facebook to iPad, and there are some changes for touchscreens.
In Game of Thrones: Ascent you play as a lord or lady in the fantasy world of Westeros, recruiting sworn swords to fight for you, building your own city, and more. It's a fairly predictable free-to-play experience, though the game's interface has been overhauled for iPad. It also does a good job diving into the lore of Game of Thrones, so if you're into the show (or especially the books) you may find something to enjoy here even if you don't like free-to-play games.
WIth the transition to iPad Ascent has also gained enhanced graphics and leaderboards in addition to the specially optimized interface and controls.
Interestingly, a spokesperson for the game told me that developer Disruptor Beam will be adding new content to the game every Monday following the airing of every new season 4 episode. In addition an Android version is arriving "in the near future."
Just remember: when you play the Game of Thrones: Ascent, you either pay or you wait.
