Updated: Ludosity's Joel Nyström confirmed with me that Scrolls is headed to Android tablets as well as iPad, blaming "some bad wording in the blog post" for the confusion. Original story follows.

There are no pickaxes or giant pixels in Scrolls, a multiplayer card battler from the creator of Minecraft that's now headed to iPad and other tablets.

Mojang announced the new tablet version of Scrolls on the game's blog in a post titled "What's next for Scrolls?" The post specifically says that "an iPad/tablet version of Scrolls is in the works," and though it doesn't mention Android tablets specifically it seems likely that's what they're referring to. Windows 8 tablets could be on the table as well—who knows?

I've reached out to Ludosity, the developer of Card City Nights who Mojang has enlisted to handle porting Scrolls to tablets, to find out exactly where the game will eventually unfold.

Mojang meanwhile promises "more news on this soon."
