FiftyThree is branching into hardware. The company which makes the popular iPad creativity app Paper, has unwrapped its first hardware product, a new stylus called “Pencil.”
There are two versions of Pencil: The “Walnut” model, which is priced at $59.95 and made from sustainable Wisconsin hardwood, as well as the “Graphite” model, which is made of brushed aluminum and will sell at $49.95.
Both will be available on FiftyThree’s online store and include a chiseled tip for drawing on the iPad screen and an eraser to correct mistakes.
The device is designed to work directly with the company’s Paper app, and to give users more control over the things that they create on its canvas.
Pencil communicates with the app after what the company calls a two-second “kiss-to-pair” connection, which syncs up the Bluetooth-enabled device and enables users to start drawing.Source article
