Amazon Kindle, NY Times, Evernote receive upgrades for new iPad Retina Display support

by George Jones

March 15 2012

The list keeps growing as app developers begin upgrading their apps in preparation for tomorrow's release of the new iPad.

In an effort to get ahead of other apps and developers, Amazon, Evernote, the New York Times, and more developers are releasing updates for the iPad versions of their apps in order to best utilize the new iPad's 2048 x 1536 Retina Display.

The descriptions for most apps state that visual displays, interfaces, and text are all being enhanced so that they're optimized for the new tablet's super-high resolution.

In addition to Retina Display support, Amazon has completely revamped its interface for browsing books in their libraries.

Other apps that have upgraded to Retina Display-optimized versions include:

  • The Daily
  • Evernote Skitch
  • Evernote Peek
  • Zillow Real Estate
  • Redfin Real Estate
  • Zappos Mobile

TabTimes will continue to track Retina Display updates as they are released.
