Having first promised an app for Android tablet owners back at the start of the year, TiVo has finally launched the app, which is now available for free on Google Play.

The app enables Tivo STB owners to browse for TV shows, schedule and add series recordings, and even allows the tablet to be used as a second remote control. 

Users can also pull up information on a program or actor, view what shows they have recorded via their ‘My Shows’ list, and comment on shows using Twitter or Facebook without having to pause the program.

The app is compatible with the TiVo Series 3, HD, and HD XL DVRs.
