IBM's new iPad and Android apps chart the history of science and technology

IBM is targeting educators and tech enthusiasts with new interactive apps for iPad and Android tablets which detail the history behind science and technology innovation.

Inspired by an exhibition in New York last year, the IBM THINK apps offer images and stories on everything from how measurements have evolved to the background of big data and the structure of the Wright Brothers’ first prototype airplane in 1903.

There is also a 10-minute HD video (available in ten different languages) on how technology innovation has changed over the years. Educators, meanwhile, will be pleased to learn that IBM is working with the New York Hall of Science so teachers can create lesson plans for middle school students which integrate with the applications.

The app is available for free from iTunes and Google Play.
