Amazon has launched the new Amazon Instant Video App for iPad, which allows users to stream up to 120,000 TV shows and movies.

The application taps into Amazon’s online video library and enables users to search, stream or download TV episodes and movies from Amazon Instant Video.

Users can stream the content to view it online or download it for offline viewing, while there are also options for viewers to create a “Your Watchlist” of what they want to watch in future.

Furthermore, app users can subscribe to a TV season pass, and start watching one show on their iPad before switching to watch the rest on a Kindle Fire, PS3, PC Mac or Internet connected TV (using Amazon's Whispersync technology).

Amazon Prime subscribers ($79 a year) are able to stream all these movies and TV shows for no extra cost, but non-members will have to pay a rental or purchase fee for each video.

The app is now available for free from the App Store and more information can be found at
