Yahoo today announced that it has refreshed Yahoo! Mail in addition to launching new applications for the email client for iPhone, Android and Windows 8.

Announced by CEO Marissa Mayer in a blog post, the firm claims to have redesigned the email client for all platforms, paying particular attention to enabling quicker emails and easier navigation.

The free iOS, Android and Windows 8 apps are available now, with the web version set to come in the “next few days”.

Sadly for iPad users, the iOS app is designed for the iPhone and iPod touch only, but the Android version will work across both smartphones and tablets running version 2.2 or above.

The Windows 8 app runs on both Windows 8 and Windows RT tablets and enables users to see new messages from the Start screen, mark some emails as favorites and conduct a search across all of their email folders.

Users will also be able to pinch to zoom to get a closer view of an email; while auto-complete will help speed up the process of emailing recipients.
