Two leading app developers say that the battle between native and web-based apps will become increasingly complex next year, as HTML5 becomes more often used for hybrid native apps.

Speaking at a panel on app technology at the TabletBiz conference in New York, Mi-Co VP of sales Gautham Pandiyan and ShopKeep POS CEO Jason Richelson agreed that hybrid apps will help streamline app development, but stressed native apps will win for certain use cases.
