You asked for it, you got it: the deadline for submitting your consumer-based tablet app to The Tabby Awards has just been extended for a few more weeks.
The Tabby Awards, the first competition for tablet apps, is generating excitement among tablet publishers the world over. As the deadline approached, submissions have poured in - not only from the United States, but from places as far as Italy, Australia and Japan.
However, several publishers lacked the time to properly enter the competition and asked us for an extension. So we shuffled the schedule a bit, and we are glad to let app developers and publishers know that they now have until Monday, May 6, to submit their apps.
The Tabby Awards is open to consumer applications written for the iOS, Android, and Windows 8 operating systems. The competition covers 27 categories including Entertainment, Games, Health & Fitness, Lifestyle, Music, News, Shopping, Social, Sports, and Video.
Beyond the typical bragging rights and a great-looking trophy, there are other incentives to submitting your tablet app. If your application wins, you will instantly become - forever - an “award-winning” app developer or publisher; you will get recognition at The TABBY AWARDS ceremony, on TabbyAwards.com and TabTimes.com; you will get exposure at the first TabTimes TABLET ECOSYSTEM conference (where the ceremony will be held) on September 12 in San Francisco; and you will be able to promote your award in your app store description.
The contest is organized in collaboration with the Application Developers Alliance, an industry association representing more than 20,000 individual developers and 100 companies. Judges for The Tabby Awards are among tablet application professionals and tech journalists having an expertise in app development.
