Opera update to Coast browser for iPad is faster, easier to customize

by TabTimes Staff

December 17 2013

With Coast 2.0 for iPad, developer Opera has ditched the forward and back buttons, so now you simply swipe left and right to move forward and backward. Opera says moving backwards to an earlier web page is faster, virtually "instant" in some cases.

It's also now easier to customize Coast's tiled home screen - just long press to choose from Opera's small collection of wallpapers or use an image from your own photo library.

Opening PDFs in another app has also been simplified. When you view a PDF file in Coast, tap on it and a menu appears that lets you open the document in another app such as iBooks, Evernote, Dropbox, or Google Drive.
