Amazon lets developers charge for HTML5 apps; Promote them via 'Free App Of The Day'

HTML5 developers who distribute through Amazon's Appstore now have a new option - they can charge for their apps.

Up until now, all HTML5 apps were automatically set to “free” when added to Amazon's Appstore which caters to the commerce giant's line of Kindle devices. 

In a related bit of news, Amazon also announced that HTML5 developers can now take part in Amazon’s Free App of the Day (FAD) promotion designed to create exposure and send downloads to an application, similar to the way an iTunes App Store feature can.
