Google updates Chrome DevTools letting devs simulate an Android device in the browser

by David Needle

December 3 2013

With Google's latest update to its web-based Chrome Developer Tools developers can simulate an Android device in their browser to help with app development.

Developers can now also easily connect an actual Android phone or tablet and screen cast their app.

With the direct ties to an Android device there’s no longer a need to install the Android SDK or use ADB terminal commands to connect to an external device.

"Keyboard and mouse events are also sent from DevTools to your device, so you don't even need to touch it while you're testing your apps," Google said in blog post.
