Dell chief commercial officer Steve Felice tells Reuters that arriving late into the tablet market is no bad thing.
Felice said that every company that has tried to have a go at the tablet market has failed, bar Apple; a slightly self-critical comment given Dell’s own half-baked efforts with the Streak 5, Streak 7 and Streak 10 Pro (a business model which is available in China). Both the Streak 5 and Streak 7 have already been discontinued in the US.
Dell wouldn’t be pressed as to which new tablets will come to market, preferring instead to say that the firm will enter the tablet market in a bigger way than it did last year. Felice also appeared rather quiet on which operating system the company might adopt, although he did express a personal preference for Microsoft’s touch-optimized Windows 8.
