A leaked roadmap shows that the Canadian smartphone and tablet makers plans to launch new 7-inch and 10-inch tablets with PlayBook 2.0 OS this year, with the first model debuting in April.
News source N4BB uncovered the roadmap, which detailed that the 7-inch model will have 3G connectivity and will be released in April.
According to the roadmap, the 10-inch tablet is due to come a little later, probably just before Christmas. This larger model will feature LTE connectivity.
RIM showed off the features of the PlayBook 2.0 OS at the Consumer Electronics Show, which seemed to be a positive show for the company, having endured something of a torrid 2011. The company’s year entailed software delays, poor tablet sales and even stolen goods.
This year has not got off to a great start, either, with reports surfacing over RIM's future and a new security threat to the PlayBook tablet.
