Fujitsu vows to bring new smartphones and tablets to European audience

Fujitsu showed off a waterproof tablet at CES in January
Japanese IT vendor Fujitsu has told Reuters that it plans to launch a wide range of smartphones and tablet devices in Europe for the first time, and says that it could show the first new products at this month's Mobile World Congress (MWC).

Fujitsu is believed to represent for about a fifth of the handset and tablet market in Japan, but has a limited presence in Europe, where it does offer a smattering of enterprise-grade devices, including the Stylistic Q550 Windows 7 tablet.

As evidenced below, Fujitsu had a long history of providing enterprise-grade tablets, although company executives admit to being grateful to Apple for increasing awareness of this once-forgotten form factor. Aside from the Stylistic Q550, Fujitsu recently announced the water-proof Arrows LTE F-01D tablet at CES, and apparently plans to launch its first Windows 8 tablets in Q4 of this year.
