Samsung looks set to announce the latest Galaxy smartphone at a press event in London next week, but now a new rumor suggests that a fresh 10.1-inch tablet may also tip up at the party.
Citing sources close to the Korean company, CNET reports that Samsung could take the wraps off a 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab with a dual-core processor at the event, although the news site says that this won’t be branded as the Galaxy Tab 2, which is expected to feature a quad-core processor when it launches later in the year.
TabTimes contacted Samsung for clarification of this rumor, but we never heard back from the company.
Should the firm go ahead and launch this rumored device, it would certainly make for a large, almost confusing, tablet family, with Samsung already offering the original Galaxy Tab, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, and the new Galaxy Tab 2 tablets, which are available in sizes of 7-inches and 10-inches. Less we forget there is also the stylus-friendly Galaxy Note devices, the last of which debuted at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
