UK court says Apple's iPad is still too cool to be confused with Samsung's Galaxy Tabs

by Doug Drinkwater

October 18 2012

Apple will be forced to run apology ads to Samsung after a British court ruled again that the Galaxy Tabs did not copy the design of the iPad.

Back in July, a judge at a High Court in London ruled that Samsung’s tablets were simply ‘not as cool’ as Apple’s iPad. Apple subsequently appealed the ruling, only for the court to reject that appeal earlier today.

Judges have asked Apple to apologize to its Korean rival by running a series of ads on its website and on national websites which say that Samsung did not infringe on its patents.

Apple was recently awarded just over $1 billion after a U.S. jury found Samsung guilty of infringing Apple’s software patents.
