Samsung will release new 7-inch and 10-inch Galaxy Tabs as well as another unidentified tablet in the first half of 2013, according to a new rumor.
Citing a “Korean insider”, online fansite SamMobile claims that the Galaxy Tab 3 range will comprise 7-inch and 10-inch versions, but somewhat confusingly adds that Samsung “isn’t sure about the 7-inch variant yet”.
Nonetheless, the source expects both models to have a 5MP camera, offer WiFi-only and 3G versions, and to be introduced under the 'Santos' codename.
According to the source, that won’t be the last of the tablet activity for Samsung, with the Korean firm also supposedly looking to launch another model (codenamed ‘Roma’) with 16GB and 32GB versions in the first half of 2013.
It is worth noting that this is only the second time we’ve heard rumors come from SamMobile, which last week reported that Samsung is preparing an 8-inch Galaxy Note, so we’re unsure as of yet if their information is credible.
Samsung did promise to introduce “something new” in the lead up to CES and there had been a suggestion at one time that the firm would undergo something of a rebrand at the Las Vegas technology show.
However, that move never transpired with the company instead focusing on a new ARM chip for tablets and a prototype bendable display.
